As a local anaesthetic has been administered, your lip and tongue will feel numb, so avoid very hot food and drinks and chewing on the insides of your mouth. Avoid biting and chewing hard things on the tooth for approximately 24 hours after treatment. There may be some minor localised soreness around the base of the tooth as a small band was placed around it during the treatment process.

Following root canal treatment some people can experience discomfort and aching for up to a week. If you are unfortunate to experience these symptoms, take your usual painkillers.

If you are still experiencing discomfort or the pain is severe after a few days, do not hesitate to contact us on 01926 311698.
