Composite (white) fillings - aftercare
Your filling is hardened and set straight away, so you can eat and drink as normal, but take care if you have had a local anaesthetic as your lip and tongue may be numb. Avoid very hot food and drinks and biting or chewing your lip and the insides of your mouth.
If the fillings have been placed on the outside front of your teeth, be aware that over time they can stain. Ensure the teeth are cleaned thoroughly and use floss or interdental brushes between them. Certain drinks such as red wine, tea and coffee and smoking may cause the fillings to stain more quickly.
You may experience some minor discomfort and sensitivity to hot and cold, your regular painkillers can be taken if required. If you are still experiencing pain after a couple of weeks, do not hesitate to contact us on 01926 311698.
Amalgam (silver Fillings) - aftercare

Take care if you have been administered a local anaesthetic as your lip and tongue may be numb. Avoid very hot food and drinks and biting or chewing your lip and the insides of your mouth.
